How it works

The Audio Trimmer gives you a visual waveform editor right in the browser: once your file decodes, its waveform is drawn on a canvas with two draggable handles marking the start and end of the region to keep. Drag with pointer precision, type exact timestamps, and hit "Play selection" to audition the cut before you commit.

Trimming is sample-accurate - the exact samples between your handles are copied into a new audio buffer, with no re-encoding artifacts introduced by the cut itself. It is the fastest way to remove silence, cut highlights from a long recording, or extract a ringtone-length clip.

Everything runs client-side: the waveform rendering, the drag interaction and the final cut all happen in your browser tab, so your files never leave your device and nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

How do I select what to keep?

Drag the two glowing handles on the waveform - everything between them (the bright region) is kept, and the shaded parts are cut away. You can also type exact start/end times in m:ss.s format, like 1:23.4.

Can I preview before trimming?

Yes - the "Play selection" button plays just the selected region so you can check the cut points before exporting.

Does trimming re-encode the audio?

The selected samples are copied exactly - no quality is lost in the cut itself. Quality only depends on the output format you choose when downloading (WAV is lossless, MP3 is compressed).

Is there a file size limit? Is it private?

Files up to 100MB are supported. The waveform is drawn and the cut is applied entirely in your browser - your audio never leaves your device.
