How it works

This is a true 10-band graphic equalizer: ten peaking filters spaced from 31 Hz to 16 kHz, each adjustable from -12 to +12 dB with a Q of 1.0, followed by an optional low-pass, high-pass or band-pass stage. Peaking filters are the workhorse of tone shaping - gentle enough for mastering-style tweaks, precise enough to notch out a harsh resonance.

Everything runs on the browser's native Web Audio graph, so every slider move is heard instantly with no rendering delay. The filter chain is rebuilt from your settings each time playback starts, keeping the signal path clean and click-free.

Like every tool here, the equalizer is 100% client-side: your audio is decoded and processed in your own browser tab, so files never leave your device and nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

What do the 10 bands control?

Each slider is a peaking filter centered on its frequency - 31 Hz for sub-bass rumble, 250-500 Hz for warmth and muddiness, 2-4 kHz for vocal presence, and 8-16 kHz for brightness and "air". Cut a band to remove a problem, boost it to emphasize.

What is the extra filter for?

It adds a second-stage filter after the 10 bands: low-pass removes everything above the cutoff (great for lo-fi), high-pass removes everything below it (cleans up rumble), and band-pass keeps only a slice around the cutoff for telephone-voice effects.

Is there a file size limit?

Yes - files up to 100MB are supported. Most common formats (MP3, WAV, OGG, M4A, FLAC) decode fine in modern browsers.

Does the equalizer upload my audio?

No. The EQ runs on a real-time Web Audio graph inside your browser. Your files never leave your device.
