How high or low the voice sounds. +12 is an octave up.
Moves the vocal resonances independently of pitch — this is what makes a chipmunk sound small and a monster sound huge.

How it works
The Voice Changer turns any recording into a character: pick one of ten built-in voices — chipmunk, feminine, masculine, deep voice, helium, monster, robot, telephone, cave or alien — then fine-tune it with pitch, formant, robot-buzz and space sliders. Upload a voice memo, preview the transformation instantly, and download the result as MP3 or WAV.
The secret ingredient is formant shifting: while pitch moves how high or low a voice sounds, formants are the resonances that make a voice sound large or small. Shifting the spectral envelope independently of pitch is what makes a chipmunk sound tiny and a monster sound enormous, instead of just fast or slow.
This is a buffer (offline) tool: the entire file is rendered with your chosen voice and returned as a downloadable file. Everything is computed client-side in your browser tab — your voice never leaves your device and nothing is uploaded anywhere.
Frequently asked questions
What does a voice changer actually change?
Two things: pitch (how high or low the voice sounds) and formants (the resonances of the vocal tract that make a voice sound big or small). Shifting both is what sells the illusion — pitch alone just sounds like a sped-up or slowed-down recording. This tool also adds optional robot buzz, telephone EQ, distortion and room reverb.
Will it work on songs, not just spoken voice?
Yes — it processes any audio you upload. On full songs the effect applies to everything (vocals and instruments together), which can sound wild. For the cleanest character voices, use an isolated vocal recording or run a track through the Acapella Extractor first.
Is my voice recording uploaded anywhere?
No. Like every tool here, the Voice Changer runs 100% in your browser — your recording is decoded, transformed and re-encoded on your own device. Nothing is sent to any server, ever.
Why do extreme settings sound a bit robotic or artifact-y?
Pitch and formant shifting resynthesize the sound, and large shifts (beyond about ±8 semitones) stretch the algorithms past transparency — you hear phasiness or grain. That is normal for all pitch/formant shifters, and honestly part of the charm for monster and alien voices.
Can it really make me sound like a man or a woman?
It gets you convincingly in the ballpark. The Feminine and Masculine voices use carefully tuned pitch and formant shifts with no effects coloration at all — that restraint is what keeps the result sounding like a real person instead of a robot. But a full conversion also depends on resonance, intonation and speech patterns that no offline pitch/formant tool fully captures, so think of it as a convincing impression rather than a perfect disguise.
How is this different from AI voice changers?
This tool uses classic digital signal processing — pitch shifting, formant shifting and filtering — running entirely in your browser. AI voice changers use neural networks on powerful servers to resynthesize speech, which can sound more convincingly human, especially for male-to-female or female-to-male conversion. The trade-off: AI tools upload your voice to their servers and usually cost money, while this one is free, instant and 100% private. For character voices and fun effects, DSP is more than enough; for fooling a careful listener, neural voices still win.
