How it works
The Vocal Enhancer is a one-click vocal polish chain built from classical DSP — no settings, just a well-tuned recipe: presence EQ lifts the intelligibility band around 3 kHz, a gentle static de-esser softens sibilance at 6.5 kHz, light soft-knee compression evens out the performance dynamics, and a whisper of tanh harmonic excitement adds warmth. The result is peak-normalized with a hard safety clamp so it can never clip.
The Before/After buttons let you A/B the original against the enhanced version through the site's shared single-flight player — starting one comparison stops the other, so they can never play over each other.
Like every tool here it is 100% client-side: the EQ, compression and normalization run in your browser tab, your audio never leaves your device, and nothing is uploaded to a server.

What exactly does the enhancer do?
Four classical DSP stages: a +4 dB presence boost around 3 kHz for intelligibility, a gentle -3 dB cut at 6.5 kHz to tame sibilance, light soft-knee compression (3:1 past -18 dB) to even out dynamics, and a touch of tanh harmonic excitement blended low for warmth. Then the result is peak-normalized so it never clips.
Is the de-esser dynamic?
No — it is a gentle static cut, not a frequency-tracking de-esser. It softens harsh "s" and "sh" sounds across the board without the pumping a dynamic de-esser can introduce. If your recording has no sibilance problem, the cut is subtle enough to be harmless.
Will it fix a bad recording?
It polishes; it does not resurrect. Clean recordings come out clearer and more present. Recordings with heavy distortion, clipping or room echo keep those problems — the enhancer works on top of them, not underneath.
Is there a file size limit? Is it private?
Files up to 100MB are supported. The whole chain runs on decoded audio inside your browser — your recordings never leave your device.
