How it works

The Stereo Panner is the simplest spatial tool: one slider that places your sound anywhere from hard left (-100) through center (0) to hard right (+100). It uses the browser's native StereoPannerNode with an equal-power panning curve, so the perceived loudness stays constant as the sound moves - no volume dips in the middle.

It is perfect for balancing lopsided recordings, placing elements in a mix, or creating dramatic left-right movement before exporting. Because it is a real-time effect, you hear the position change the instant you drag.

Like every tool here, it is 100% client-side: your audio is processed in your own browser tab, never leaves your device, and nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

What does panning do to a stereo file?

Panning shifts the whole stereo image toward one side. A fully stereo recording panned hard left will still have some internal width, just relocated to the left speaker - for true mono-to-one-side, use the Downmixer first.

Can I fix a recording that is louder on one side?

Partly - panning toward the quieter side rebalances the image. For a proper fix, the Downmixer (mono mode) plus this panner gives you full control.

Is there a file size limit?

Yes - files up to 100MB are supported, in all common formats your browser can decode.

Is my audio uploaded anywhere?

No. Panning runs on a real-time Web Audio graph in your browser. Your files never leave your device.
