How it works
The Noise Reducer cleans up steady background noise - hiss, hum, fan drone and room tone - using spectral noise reduction. It analyzes the frequency content of each channel, estimates which parts are constant background noise versus actual signal, and suppresses the noise floor while preserving voices and music.
Three strengths trade off cleanliness against artifacts: Mild gently lowers hiss with no audible side effects, Medium balances noise removal and naturalness for most recordings, and Strong attacks heavy noise aggressively at the cost of a slightly processed sound on delicate material.
This is a buffer (offline) tool: the whole file is analyzed and rendered with your chosen strength, then returned as a downloadable file. Everything runs client-side in your browser, so your recordings never leave your device.

What kinds of noise does it remove?
It targets steady background noise: tape hiss, fan hum, air-conditioner drone, room tone and microphone self-noise. Sudden sounds like coughs, clicks or traffic are much harder to remove cleanly.
Which strength should I choose?
Start with Medium. Use Mild for lightly noisy recordings where you want zero artifacts, and Strong for very noisy recordings where removing the noise matters more than perfect voice quality.
Will it affect the voice or music?
A little at higher strengths - aggressive reduction can add a slight "watery" or "underwater" artifact to voices. If you hear that, step down one strength level.
Is there a file size limit? Is it private?
