The Lofi Beat Maker composes original lofi hip-hop beats without a single sample. A seeded random engine builds the track from the ground up: jazzy Rhodes-style electric-piano chords from three classic progressions, a sub bassline that follows the roots, and dusty boom-bap drums — kick, snare and swung hi-hats.
Then comes the texture: sparse vinyl crackle and a dust bed, a tape-style lowpass for warmth, and subtle wow-and-flutter pitch wobble, finished with gentle soft clipping and normalized to broadcast-safe levels. Every control — tempo, progression, drums, crackle, swing, warmth, duration — reshapes the composition live.

Do I need to upload any audio?
No — this tool generates everything from scratch. Every drum hit, chord and vinyl pop is synthesized in your browser with the Web Audio API and pure math; there are no samples and nothing is downloaded.
Will I get the same beat twice?
Only if you want to. Every beat is built from a seed number: the same seed always produces the exact same beat, bit for bit. Hit "Surprise me" to roll a new seed and get a brand-new beat.
Can I use the beats I make commercially?
Yes. Everything is 100% original synthesis — no copyrighted samples, loops or recordings are involved — so the beats you render are yours to use however you like.
Is there a file size limit? Is it private?
There are no uploads at all, so no size limit applies. Rendering happens entirely in your browser — your beats never leave your device.
