Vocals are removed by cancelling what is identical in both channels, and keeping the bass restores low frequencies below the vocal range. Add LRC lyrics below to sing along with the backing track.

How it works

The Karaoke Maker turns any song into a sing-along backing track with two tricks in one page: center-channel vocal removal to make the instrumental, and an LRC lyric panel that highlights each line as the track plays. Paste lyrics in the standard [mm:ss.xx] LRC format, load them, and press play β€” the current line lights up in sync with the music.

Vocal removal is classical DSP: whatever is identical in the left and right channels (usually the lead vocal) is cancelled by subtraction, while the panned instruments remain. The optional "keep bass" pass restores low frequencies below the vocal range so the track keeps its punch. Nothing is uploaded β€” the whole thing runs on decoded audio data inside your browser tab.

Lyric sync is driven by a lightweight clock that follows the shared audio player, so pausing or stopping playback freezes and resets the highlight in step with the sound. LRC files themselves are yours to supply from third-party lyric sites.

Frequently asked questions

How does the Karaoke Maker remove vocals?

It uses center-channel cancellation: in most stereo mixes the lead vocal is identical in the left and right channels, so subtracting one channel from the other cancels the vocal while panned instruments survive. This is classical DSP: transparent math running in your browser β€” no model, no server, nothing uploaded.

Where can I get LRC lyrics?

LRC files are plain text with [mm:ss.xx] timestamps and are shared on many third-party lyric websites β€” search the web for the song title plus "LRC". They are supplied by you: paste the text into the box above and press "Load lyrics". Lyric sites are independent services, so availability and accuracy vary.

Why can I still faintly hear the vocal?

Stereo reverb on a vocal lives in the side channels, which cancellation keeps β€” you may hear a ghostly reverberant residue. Wide-panned or doubled vocals also survive. Results vary by mix; dry, centered pop vocals vanish best.

Is there a file size limit? Is it private?

Files up to 100MB are supported. The cancellation math and the lyric highlighting run entirely in your browser β€” your music and lyrics never leave your device.
