Low-shelf filter at 120 Hz. Push past +14 dB with care - heavy boosts can clip on already-loud tracks.

How it works

The Bass Booster applies a low-shelf equalizer filter at 120 Hz, smoothly raising everything below that point - kick drums, bass guitar, 808s and synth sub-bass - by up to 24 dB. Unlike a simple volume increase, it leaves mids and highs untouched, so vocals and cymbals stay exactly as they were.

Under the hood it uses the browser's native BiquadFilterNode in lowshelf mode, the same DSP building block found in professional audio software. Because the filter runs on a real-time audio graph, you hear the change instantly as you drag the slider, with zero rendering wait.

Everything runs client-side: your audio is decoded and processed in your own browser tab, so your files never leave your device and nothing is ever uploaded to a server.

Frequently asked questions

Will boosting the bass damage my speakers?

Boosting bass itself will not damage speakers, but pushing past +14 dB on an already-loud track can cause clipping distortion, which sounds harsh and can stress small speakers. Keep your device volume moderate with the Heavy or Extreme presets.

What frequencies does the bass booster affect?

It applies a low-shelf filter at 120 Hz, so everything from the sub-bass up to about 120 Hz gets lifted - kick drums, bass guitars, 808s and synth bass.

Is there a file size limit?

Yes - files up to 100MB are supported. Larger files may be slow to decode on older devices.

Is my audio uploaded anywhere?

No. All processing happens locally in your browser using the Web Audio API. Your files never leave your device.
