How it works
The Waveform Generator turns the shape of your sound into a high-resolution image. It scans every sample of your file, finds the peaks, and paints them as a smooth waveform on a canvas - in neon cyan, warm sunset orange, or classic monochrome, at sizes from 800x400 up to a 3000x1000 SoundCloud banner.
Waveforms are more than decoration: the silhouette reveals the dynamics of a track at a glance - dense blocks are loud mastered sections, thin wisps are quiet intros, and sharp spikes are transients. Artists and podcasters use them as cover art, audiograms and thumbnails.

What can I use the waveform image for?

Does it show stereo or mono?
Your choice: the default is a mono mixdown of your file, which represents the overall energy best in a single elegant shape, or pick "Stacked L / R" to draw the left and right channels in two separate lanes. The transparent-background toggle exports the waveform alone on a clear PNG, ready to layer over artwork or video.
Is there a file size limit?
Audio files up to 100MB are supported. Rendering a waveform from a very long file may take a few seconds.
Is my audio uploaded anywhere?
No. The waveform is drawn on a canvas entirely in your browser, and the PNG is generated locally. Your audio never leaves your device.
